4-22-17. A different version of one of my favorite places. Having the water ragged, instead of smoothing it, gives a sense of power and sound of the splashing, rushing waters.
4-22-17. The Upstate Raptor Center brought some of its beautiful rescue birds for us to photograph. This is a lovely barn owl. I would love to have one in my barn.

4-24-17. Mini garden growing from a tree trunk in Cades Cove.
4-24-17. The next images are from a branch I found on the ground in Cades Cove. It had the most amazing lichens, in all stages! All of a sudden lichens were fascinating. Blow them up and look at the detail!
04-24-17. Miami Mist. Just starting to bloom. Many other wildflowers had already bloomed early.
4-24-17. Middle Prong after the serious rains of the day before. High water and debris swept down the stream.
4-25-17. Back to Kentucky on the way home and discovered the rains had been much heavier there. Cumberland River had covered much of what I like to photograph and access was closed off. The corrugated stone is under this.
4-25-17. The Falls were really raging! Compare to the Friday picture.
4-25-17. Another view of flooding and debris.
4-25-17. This sort of says it all! Time to go home.
