  • One of the earliest flower flies I see. Maybe a Helophilus fasciatus, or Narrow-Headed Marsh Fly. Corrections welcome. 040120.
  • Tree Swallows checking out the Bluebird boxes for a new nest. More of the nest boxes are used by Tree Swallows than Bluebirds here. 040120

  • This looks like a beaver chew to me. Something I have never seen there, nor have I ever seen a beaver at CSW. 040320

  • One of the Buttercups, Ranunculus, in full bloom on the floodplain. I'm not getting into the argument about which one. 041920
  • The white version of the Trout Lily has a few patches on the flood plain. It is only a couple of inches tall, and likes to point its flower staight down. Not an easy subject! 041920
