  • Old olive trees, which can be up to 2  thousand years old (!) grow into some fantastic shapes.
  • Olive trees live for millennia.  This one is supposed  to be over 1000 years old.  Needs a little support.

  • I could probably have spent days doing olive wood abstracts.  This tree has some eggs (don't know whose)  in the hole.

  • This old and very bright pony cart was in a corner of a shed.
  • Masseria Brancati has a museum of farming methods.  This is an olive oil press from the 1800's.  Turned by a donkey.
  • This tortoise shell cat had been wandering in and out among the buildings while we were there.  As we came out, it had made itself completely comfortable and gone to sleep on this man's lap!
