AigasScotland

From Loch Lomond & Glencoe

  • Village of Luss, 1st stop on our trip from Glasgow to Aegis. Wonderfully kept!
  • Several of these begonia planters were at a rest stop on our way. The tag reads "Not a Dog Toilet"!
  • Loch Lomond.
  • A view from outside Glencoe, the Three Sisters area.
  • View from Glencoe with the recreated croft.
  • Inside construction at Glencoe.
  • My first Ode in Scotland. At Glencoe, a Golden-ringed Dragonfly. I got a pamphlet on Dragonflies of the Highlands, but instead of giving me the Latin name, it had Scots Gallic.
  • Very large Foxglove plants grew wild all over the Highlands.
  • Not sure about this, but it was lovely.
  • Glimpse of the House of Aegis through the trees. It was basically a Georgian structure with the accretions put on by the Victorians.
  • The rear of the house, showing a more Georgian structure.
  • Closer view of the statue in the back garden.
  • One of the cabins in the woods we lived in. Very comfortable.
  • Pansies and a pine cone growing out of the gravel.
  • One of the many wonderful flowers in the Aegis gardens. This was outside the door and I kept passing it.
  • Another of my friends, a Common Darter.
  • Scottish Wildcat, part of a project to re-introduce them to the wild,
  • Loch Aegis, the lake on the property.
  • Another view of the Loch.
  • a Common Blue Damselfy at Loch Aegis. These were indeed common.
