May 1. One of my tulips in bloom. Playing with my long lens. Not like a macro, but definitely not bad, and I forgot to turn the IS off!
May 4. One of the Neighborhood Robins at 400mm handheld, leaning on the doorframe. It was WAY up in this maple. I think I am sold.
May 8. I liked the way the late afternoon light hit these small trees at the back of the bean field. Click this one for a larger size.
May 12. Very cold day with a colder wind making waves on my birdbath. Stood in the doorway with my long lens. This is handheld and cropped way down. Click it to see larger.
May 16. Went to the Beaver Marsh at CVNP today with Marilyn. These Heron was very obliging and slowly made his way posing for us.
May 19. CBG. Allium was blooming.
May 22. This is Mama Swallow. She and Papa Swallow have had their nest in our barn for a few years now. We will be following them.
May 24. What a yawn!
May 30. CSW. Green Darners, Anax junius, flying tandem. They are just taking off from depositing eggs. Their landing gear is still down.
May 2. Goslings hatched at the Crook Street Wetlands. More playing with the long lens.

May 10. There is this one late pink tulip blooming in my Hosta bed. No idea how it got there!
May 13. Sparrow taking a bath in a mud puddle in my driveway.
May 16. After many. many attempts and an awful lot of frames with just the tree hole, this is as close as I got to capturing this tree swallow carrying grass for its nest.

May 25. These guys live next door at Pence's Quiet Creek Farm. They are watching my dog.
May 31. An unattractive view of our newly planted vegetable garden. It was so windy when we were putting in the plants, we put buckets of water on the weed proof fabric to keep it from blowing away. Will update on the garden as it grows. It will get nicer!
May 2. Could barely see this Goldfinch but the long lens got him.
May 6. Went to Cleveland Greenhouse with Marilyn. This Bleeding Heat spray had managed to get itself draped over these tulips.
May 12. Cleveland Botanical Garden. Ikenobo exhibit in the Hall.
May 14. The vegetable garden was just tilled, and this Kildeer checked it for bugs. Lots of Kildeer in the fields right now.
May 17. Augusta-Anne Olsen State Nature Preserve with CMNH. Very nice place for all kinds of things.
May 20. My favorite subjects are back at the Crook Street Wetlands. This guy is a Dot-Tailed Whiteface. Leucorrhinia intacta to be exact.
May 22. Went to the Nursery for some annuals. I liked the juxtaposition of the color blocks.
May 26. New Guinea Impatiens outside my deck door.
April 2. Yes, I should have taken the dead leaf off, but I don't remember seeing yellow violets at the CS Wetlands and just wanted to catch them. Not with the long lens, with my pocket camera. Not too bad!
May 6. Irises at the Cleveland Greenhouse. I posted more Iris shots in my Miscellaneous Flowers gallery. Irises are way cooler than I thought!
May 12. CBG Double tulip soaked from last night's rain.
May 15. Meadowlark moved into one of the pastures.
May 16. Lovely little Long Spur Violet at Olsen Preserve.
May 20. Crook Street Wetlands. A late Wild Geranium and Friends.
May 23. Still pond in the early morning light.
May 27. One of our pastures loaded with buttercups.
May 3. This is all I can see from my little deck right now. Hides the birds!

May 19. CBG. Lots of stuff in bloom, but the light was way too strong. I enjoyed it anyway.
May 21. Guess what this is! Our first tomato blossom! Good things to come.....
May 24. Marilyn and I went to the Zoo. My horse does this with his tongue, too.
May 30. Crook Street Wetlands. Blue Dasher, Pachydiplax longipennis, one of the most common wetland dragonflies. They pose, are an easy shot, and very attractive.
