July 1. We are starting the month like we finished June. Wet bird on a wet deck through a wet window.
July 5. All this rain has mushrooms all over. This one was bright red, under my clothesline.
July 7. Definitely not my favorite birds, Starlings took over one of the Bluebird boxes at Peak. As much as I may dislike them, these juveniles were cute.
July 10. CSW. Cup-plant starting to flower.
July 10. CSW. Patch of Blazing Star.
July 13. CBG. Couldn't find a tag telling me what this is, but I liked the color and shape.
July 19. Nice reflections on my super-still pond. And all I had was my phone!
July 20. This juvenile Robin sat in the butterfly bush and cheeped for well over an hour. Its mother finally came for him.
July 24. If you were going to name this little spider, what would you name it?
July 28. CSW. Fantastic Skies
July 30. Second brood for my Barn Swallows. Lot of mouth to feed!
July 2. CBG. Very conventional, but nice, shot of a lily.
July 6. Spreadwing around the pond.
July 8.
Find the Milkweed Bug in the Butterflyweed blooming in my back. You may have to blow it up. His camouflage is pretty good!
July 10. Slaty Skimmer, Libellula incesta.
July 11. Sandy Ridge. I loved the way this Egret set itself up on this old stump. The stump was great all by itself.
July 13. CBG Red Admiral in a riot of Coneflowers.
July 29. Went with Marilyn Beasley to Holden Arb. Tiger Swallowtails were prevalent - two to a plant here.
July 31. Goldfinches have been after the Chicory seeds. Don't remember that from before. Working on a better shot.
July 2. CBG. Find the frog!
July 7. Peak Preserve. American Painted Lady.
July 9. This Cinequefoil was popular.
July 10. CSW. Narrow Leaf Mountain Mint is in bloom all over. It always attracts a lot of pollinators. I don't think I ever saw a Four Toothed Mason Wasp, Monobia quadridens, before.
July 11. Juvenile Spotted Sandpiper at Sandy Ridge.
July 15. This Giant landed on my sliding door. It was about as big as my hand. What a fantastic creature! Male Dobson Fly, perfectly harmless.
July 18. CSW. This is the first time I have seen a Canada Lily there. Beautiful thing!
July 21. CBG has lots of chipmunks, but they usually don't stay and pose.
July 27. I have never had so many hummingbirds around the feeder! I think their favorite stuff has very few blooms.
July 29. Lily pond at Holden.
July 3. Rain (surprise!) on a blackberry leaf. All this rain has me inside playing with b&w conversions and filters.
July 7. Wildflower patch at Peak with Twelve Spot FE.
July 9. The first of my sunflowers. Best seen at 2 or 3x.
July 10. CSW. Swamp Milkweed and St.John's Wort.
July 13. CBG. Summer Azure.
July 19. Female Eastern Amberwing, Perithemis tenera, by my pond.

July 21. CBG. This Katydid looks like he is staring at his shadow.
July 27. I like the little tongue.
July 29. Brilliant day. Wonderful reflections if a bit contrasty.
July 4. Independence Day in Mid America. Used some Nostalgia filters for this one.
July 9. Peak has a patch of Tiger Lilies.
July 10. Crook Street Wetlands. Viceroy.
July 10. CSW.. Common Wood Nymph, Cercyonis pegala
July 13. CBG. Borage flower.
July 16. Least Skipper. Lots of these around. They are little guys, and usually don't stay still long enough for me to get a photo.
July 19. Micrathena spider on my porch. Usually a few of these move in each summer. They have hard spiked abdomens - very strange but cool.
July 21. Red Spotted Purples are one of the few species out in any numbers right now.
July 28. CSW. Fleabane
July 29. Marilyn Beasley enjoying the reflections.
